DIY: Balloon Sleeve Wrap Top

I decided to make this balloon-sleeve-cropped-wrap-top-in-mesh because I couldn't find something similar in the market that I really liked, I only made this a week before Chinese New Year and with all the spring cleaning and lessons going on, I didn't have time to make a video tutorial for it. I hope the photos and patterns can help you a little if you're giving this top a try!

WHAT YOU NEED:
  • 1.5 metres of organza or mesh, min 55" width. For sizes XS & S, 1.2 metres will be sufficient.
  • Standard sewing tools
DIY challenge level: 3/5

PREPARATION:
Download the pattern in size S [click] Please grade accordingly for other sizes.
PDF size is A4, pattern is 1/4 scale.
Pattern includes 1.5cm seam allowances all around unless otherwise stated.

STEPS TO SEW:

My sewing isn't the tidiest as it was a mad rush, but I'm glad to churn it out for CNY and I love it sooo much. It's so versatile, I can pair it with shorts for a casual look, a pair of pants or even a midi skirt.

On a side note, I'll be taking a short break from my clothing tutorials to focus on my studies and spend more time here. I might work on some DIY sleep products as part of my open source practice so if you're looking to better your sleep, do keep a lookout for these videos. Even though I'm on a short hiatus, if you have any ideas on what I should make next or would like to see in my next clothing video, do share and leave a comment for me! xx

Love,
Ace
